Booklets
We have developed a small uniform series of booklets each of which brings together and expands upon topics covered on this website. It is intended to keep them updated should new information come to light and to reprint them when required. A copy of the latest edition of each of these booklets is held by the six Legal Deposit Libraries.

Discovery Trail
This A5 size full colour booklet was first produced in 2019 as part of our 175th anniversary celebrations. It has proved popular with visitors and has been updated a number of times since, being expanded from 20 to 28 pages in the process.
Copies of this booklet are available, free of charge, upon request during normal office hours.
A copy of the first edition of this booklet is held in the library of the Brunel Institute in Bristol.

GWR Promotional Jigsaw Puzzles
This 76 page A5 size full colour booklet was first produced and published in May 2024 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Great Western Railway selling its first promotional jigsaw puzzle. The full range and backround of these puzzles spanning 1924 to 1939 is covered in the relevant pages of this website, but the booklet gathers all the information together and provides the opportunity to further expand upon certain aspects and detail. Being described by readers as 'a gem' and 'a good, informative and well-presented publication' it has become regarded as an invaluable reference work on the subject.
Copies can be obtained from us in return for a voluntary donation towards its cost of printing.

Souvenirs
In addition to the Discovery Trail booklet described above, we have produced a few other souvenirs for visitors to the Old Ticket Office. As with that booklet, all these souvenirs are available, free of charge, upon request during normal office hours whilst stocks last.

Souvenir ticket
There are two special souvenir tickets for visitors to the Old Ticket Office. The first, green, one was printed in 2017 and the example shown here is stamped with the date of the first 175th anniversary celebrations open-day using one of the refurbished Waterlow dating machines in our collection. These will not be reprinted once the run of 2,000 tickets has been exhausted and a new design was developed in 2025 to replace it. This new ticket tries to be a bit closer in style to an original GWR one and is printed on cream card stock. We took the opportunity to include a simplified line drawing of the Old Ticket Office on the back with the website name beneath.

Card bookmarker
The Great Western Railway published a series of six card bookmarkers from the late 1920s. Each of these carried an illustration of a place of interest taken from the many posible destinations served by the GWR. On the reverse was a description of that particular destination and the name of the station which served it. The bookmarkers are known to have been produced in two different sizes with the smaller thought to be the earlier version, with the larger being more common. We have been able to collect original examples of all six of the larger sized bookmarkers and they are described in detail on the 'Holiday Haunts' book page which can be found under the 'Book collection/GWR books and booklets' menu tab.
We have produced a bookmarker for The Old Ticket Office at Culham Station which echoes the design of the larger GWR bookmarkers.
